One of the essential tasks to be fulfilled by external building partitions is to protect rooms against noise. It determines the comfort of using the building, among other things. Properly designed acoustic insulation is of particular importance when the building is located in a zone characterized by a significant level of noise, e.g. in the central part of the city, near an expressway, railway line or in the vicinity of an airport. In the case of the most frequently used massive walls, the resultant acoustic insulation of external walls is determined by the acoustic insulation of the windows.
