Non Clinical Support Building (NCSB) is one of the many construction and design projects, which purpose was an adaptation of the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Belfast to ensure the conditions for the creation of a new children's hospital unit on the RVH site: Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
New building was constructed on the premises which were previously occupied by an office building demolished in spring of 2016.
Non Clinical Support Building was made to provide a space for the creation of new reception and distribution center, which was intended to support newly established children’s hospital. The construction of the building was also to facilitate the expansion of underground service tunnels on level 0 used as supply route for the drugs, goods and medical supplies as well as waste management.  The building was also to house the hospital's administrative offices.

PROJECT
New building was designed as a compact 3-story structure with the rectangular ‘0’ level, and the upper levels are arranged in an inverted L-shaped configuration with the longer axis facing north. To the south of the building there is a large service and economic complex which task is the delivery, collection and maintenance of hospital linen, food, etc., as well as waste disposal. This complex can be accessed via the service tunnels located at level 0.
On level 0 of the new building, there are rooms for staff - offices, lockers, toilets, etc., a technical room for lifts, an electrical control room, goods warehouses and service corridors. Level 1 is the floor with mainly office rooms with a separate entrance. There are also equipment room for the IT department, toilets and conference rooms. Level 2, which can be reached by elevator or stairs, mainly includes offices, conference rooms, living and recreation areas for staff. Level 3 at the roof level was intended for a conservatory, an archive for storing documents for printing, as well as shops for staff and patients. There are also solar panels on the roof.
