The project is a part of a larger Greengate Salford Strategic Regeneration Plan, which involved the revitalization of 13 hectares of empty or unused land and buildings to create a distinctive and diverse mixed-use urban neighborhood.
   
PROJECT 
The essence of the design assumptions was to create a characteristic apartment building in the heart of Greater Manchester, which would fit in with the character of the bustling urban lifestyle. Insinde of the 17-storey high-rise there are apartments intended primarily for younger, financially independent residents. Apartments have been finished to a high standard, providing hotel level service and facilities including reception, gym and swimming pool. 
The form of the building merges well with the urban context of the surroundings, and the commercial and service space on the ground floor contributes to the active frontage of the street. The building housed a large cafe and restaurant overlooking Greengate Square. Lower floors of the building are cut off from the upper floors and open the building towards the Greengate public sphere, while the form of the building provides picturesque views of Manchester's historic cathedral located in the neighboring district. 
The building is conveniently located next to the two office buildings, also designed by the architectural studio Lawrence Flanagan, which are located above a public car park and a shopping mall under a historic Victorian railroad viaduct.
